2 /5 Cynthia Varela: Giving two stars. Was here the other day with my bestie and we had shopped here before. Nothing bad about the store itself. Great selection of hair accessories and jewelry! The trip my bestie and I had was so different the second time around. Primarily, because the store clerk eaves dropping a conversation my friend and I were having. My friend has an allergy to almost metals used in jewelry. Even gold. We weren’t even asking the clerk for any of her input but she loudly and rudely butted in with her rebuttal, defending the quality of her product and work as a piercer, and steam rolling the conversation whenever my friend tried to explain that she, a 32 year old woman, knows what she’s allergic too. And this clerk was so fixated on explaining why my friend should try a piercing with a longer bar to see how her ears truly react…. Arguing her reactions were from short bars and my friend, who’s the sweetest in the world just had no window to even let this clerk know that she’s Mexican catholic and had been adorned with gold throughout her child hood, bracelets, necklaces all giving her skin reactions… we came in to shop and had to deal with the clerk loudly repeating her self as if she was trying to manifest one of us in her chair for a piercing. We felt that stop at lovisa was such a waste of time and left feeling irritated. It’s a shame they have such cute stuff. We really wanted to buy some items but that clerk made us so uncomfortable. We left and my friend cut loose and said “I wish I told her…” nobody should ever be stressed from a shopping trip to a store like that. We’re also firm believers in allowing ourselves to be educated, but this lady was just arguing, not educating. 2 stars out of 5.
