3 /5 Shefali: I got a custom engagement ring made by Mansour Jewelers. Emily and Michael made sure to understand exactly what I wanted and the end result is gorgeous. Everyone was communicative, kept in touch through the process, and did all the little tweaks I asked for during the process. However, there were some discrepancies with pricing that have left a funny taste in my mouth. I had set a budget of 3k (the ring from James Allen would have been 2k). I was told that by picking the carat and color that I did, the ring would be far under budget (specifically, around 1k lower) compared to a better diamond (which they told me would be at budget). However, when it came to the end, the ring’s cost came out exactly to my budget. That said, the workmanship is beautiful and the quality is high, but I feel slightly misled after the pricing experience. I did not end up returning for my engagement ring because of this experience, but I understand that you pay extra for this custom workmanship. I just wish it had been disclosed more clearly.
