1 /5 Corey Goldman: Where do I even begin...
I am a first time homeowner and I needed a home insurance policy. Peter barely took the time to explain any details to me about the policy he emailed me and couldnt have cared less about taking the time to call me and explain it to me and make sure I 100% understood what I may be buying.
He quoted me a few thousand dollars less than everyone else did and thats when I knew something wasnt kosher. I reached out to several other insurance brokers to get help as Peter couldnt have cared less about helping me and all he had his eyes were on was his commission. Peter instructed me to reach out to my current insurance broker to cancel my policy when that is just 100% laziness and that is having the client do his job for him. In addition, he also told me I could only pay annually so he can get his commission when in reality he could have just changed that with the click of the button on the change payment plan.
Peter most certainly did not have my best interest and was only worried about his own pocket and is self serving. When I asked Peter if I couldnt get the payment in time if we can cancel and just re-write the policy if I needed more time, his response word for word was "if youre going to make me re-write the policy for you then you can go find another agent". A prime example of Peter looking to self serve and not looking out for the best interest of his client.
Little did Peter know that when I was living in NY I had my insurance license and that I have 10 different insurance brokers on speed dial in Florida. When I spoke with other brokers they were all baffled about how he handled his business and the situation and I have learned that the reason why his price was so much lower than others was so he could get paid. I have also heard from numerous agents that he has a bad reputation for doing things like this.
So one might ask, how did Peter manage to get me a much lower price than everyone else. First off he knew the lowest price would get him the business and paid regardless if it was the right or wrong policy for me. Well he managed to get the lowest price for me by the actual cash value on the roof instead of the replacement cost. This could have led to an absolute disastrous situation for me if I moved forwards with his policy and recommendation in the event of damage to my home or the roof.
All he had to do was to care about his potential client and show he cared and take the time to explain things to me instead of trying to take advantage of a first time homeowner. Reviews like this is the price one pays for dishonesty, self serving, and flat out being rude.
Peter, I hope you learn from your mistakes and never try to take advantage of anyone else for your own benefit. If anyone else is reading this, be very wise about who you get your policies from and make sure you do your research and seek out multiple brokers for help and advice and then make your decision.
All you had to do was your job and to put your clients interest ahead of yours and you didnt and look where we are now.
Best of luck to you Peter.
