1 /5 ruth tascon: Terrible experience. I came in to ask about fixing a piece of jewelry I already had, and the man working there was extremely rude and dismissive, and his behavior came across as racist. I was already speaking English when he told me to “speak English,” which was unnecessary and insulting.
When my friend politely asked how much he was going to charge, he snapped at her, saying she shouldn’t even ask since she wasn’t the one paying. He told her to sit down and not talk, and then rudely added that if she didn’t like his “humor” she could leave. When I showed surprise at his tone, he told me I could leave too (which we for sure left)
He also spoke disrespectfully to the woman working there, telling her to shut up, and it was clear she felt uncomfortable—she even apologized to us as we walked out.
This man’s attitude was unprofessional, hostile, and discriminatory!
