Simmons Bank - Athens (TX)

3 /5 Kerry Locke: I banked with Citizens State Bank beginning in 2005. It changed to Spirit of Texas, then to Simmons Bank. I had to close my account and start a new one in 2020 due to divorce. Overall I had a decent experience throughout. However, when I moved an hour away from my nearest branch is when problems began. Every time I made a mobile deposit they would hold a large portion of my money. Their policies for Zelle were ridiculous. Transferring money between checking and savings took several days even though the app showed the money had moved resulting in insufficient fund notifications. There was no charge for this but was frustrating because it was my money and I should be able to spend it whenever.
