2 /5 MOTORRAD GUY: Very friendly and professional, however beware. I must let everyone know that Famers insurance here in Texas City is not the answer if you are looking for a different insurance company due to increased rates. We had two claims on our Progressive policy and were facing an increase due to that fact. One claim involved my wife being rear-ended by an uninsured motorist, the other involved me hitting a nearly invisible and unavoidable object in the middle of an interstate in TN. These incidents were brought up by me while signing up, and they quoted us for $278 per month for a new full coverage policy for our two vehicles. We signed documents for a one year policy term. We got all the paperwork a few weeks later confirming our policy agreement. We paid the $278 on our first regular payment date (auto draft). The next month I get an alert from TrueBill saying that there was an increase in the amount charged for Farmers insurance. They are now charging me $414 per month for the remainder of our one year term. They say it was due to an oversite on the underwriting departments part. If I would have been told the truth on what it was really going to cost me I would have stayed with Progressive, to at least have a future chance at loyalty rewards. I honestly feel like this was a ploy to get me switched and signed up at an attractive rate, and then just charge what they knew was going to be charged anyway. The difference between $440 that Progressive was going to charge me, and $414 per month was not worth switching from an insurance company that I was with for years, and I am sure they knew this. They did not even offer to try and fight the underwriters to ad least negotiate a compromise.
