Frank Loughlin - State Farm Insurance Agent - Catskill (NY)

1 /5 MK luff: Poor communication and service. We purchased insurance through this State Farm for our fixer-upper home in the Catskills in April. Today we received a partial refund check in the mail with no explanation for the cancellation of our policy (or official termination date). I reached out to our agent Perry to understand why, and he stated its due to the current state of the house and that they dont cover houses in that state. This was surprising since I had a long conversation with Perry when we bought the insurance about the state of the house and how we would be spending the next two years rehabbing a home that had been abandoned for 10 years (We were also specifically directed to this office by another state farm employee because of the type of home we were purchasing). I wanted to know why he didnt mention this would be an issue when we purchased the insurance from him and he just responded "I dont make the rules, I just follow them". Which was not only rude, but made it clear he didnt even understand the insurance he was selling since if this was a rule he obviously didnt understand it enough to follow it when he sold us the insurance. A lot of the other reviews for this State Farm positive seem positive, so perhaps its just this agent. But I would definitely avoid them if you have other insurance options.
