1 /5 Steve Butler: Bad attitude, poor service, we were treated very poorly.
After reading reviews on line we were really excited to visit this jewelry store to talk with them about resizing my fiancé’s gold Citrine and Garnet engagement ring and to discuss having a custom wedding band made to go with it. When my Fiancé went into the store, her experience was awful. They were extremely insulting towards her engagement ring selection and asking why would she ever pick that ring. When she ignored those comments and asked if it could be resized to a smaller size, they said that they don’t work with quartz because it was so soft and why would she pick that ring. (Citrine and Garnet are in the quartz family and have a hardness of 6), even though they had Garnet jewelry in their jewelry case. They also were demeaning about the gold setting saying that engagement rings should not be made out of 14 carat gold because it doesn’t hold up to wear and tear (14 carat is an industry standard). All we wanted was to have the ring sized down one size. When she asked about having a wedding band made to go with the ring, they seemed reluctant to want to help her They never even asked here to remove the ring so they could examine it. My Fiance left there feeling very upset, angry and insulted. She went to another jeweler near by and asked them to do the exact same work. They were very friendly and helpful and said that it would be no problem to do the sizing. When we asked them about any concerns over 14 carat gold, or the stones in the ring, they said they didn’t have any issues with our ring and that they sold 14 carat engagement rings all the time. They resized our ring within 48 hours and are now working with us to create custom wedding bands. I’m not sure why we were treated so rudely, but suffice it to say we will never go back to Gems Of The Jungle.
