1 /5 Mike Berlin: I have been coming to Kay Jewelers exclusively for 30 years. Every milestone or event was spent through this company. Recently I spent my first wedding anniversary without a present and empty handed due to this Newark location. I have deliberated whether or not this company even deserves my business anymore due to this Newark location. Here is my story. I went to Kay Jewelers Newark location to propose to my wife and got a beautiful wedding set. Fast forward to 2 weeks before our 1st wedding anniversary and i go in to see the ladies that helped me with the wedding ring to help me complete the set and get the second wedding band. They say no problem and tell me they have to order it. About a week goes by and i hear nothing. I stop by on my way home from work and ask about it. The ladies told me its not come in yet but if i want to pay for it i can and then it will be easier and faster when i come to pick it up. So i pay in full a lot of freaking money and walk out. 3 days go by ....nothing. I call and the ladies say oh no its not in, mind you my anniversary is in 3 days. I wait some more. The morning of my 1st anniversary i call and the ladies say ...ohh it looks likes its been discontinued for awhile leaving me empty handed on my anniversary. I have never felt so angry or betrayed as a loyal customer in my life and to top it all off they took my couple thousand dollars like nothing but "oh sorry" its discontinued the day i needed it. My question is how in the world were these crook ladies able to take my money and "sell" me something that is discontinued. I feel scammed liked they planned on selling me something mediocre all along and pushing me up against a deadline thinking i would just cave and buy whatever not what i came in there for. I wasnt offered a refund i had to beg for it. I need everyone to know not to go to this location if you are looking to buy jewelry. I will never be back to be scammed and tricked again.
