2 /5 KB: I have been working through Secord for years, probably seven or more. The problems started in the last couple of years, where I would leave messages with different office people there and they would tell me someone would need to call me back and no one would get back to me in a timely matter. This happened repeatedly where I would have to follow up, because no one called me back. Then most recently we decided to go through Secord with Progressive a year ago which was very competitive pricing. Secord did not mention how difficult Progressive was to get home insurance, and we had to jump through all kinds of hoops to get insured. First, I complied with sending more than twenty electronic photos of our house, then they insisted on inspecting the house directly and it took several tries to get the person scheduled to do this, because of their limited schedule, and they insured us. Within a year Progressive sent us a non-renewal notice saying they were no longer going to insure us, because our house was in a wild fire area. (We live in Western Washington where it rains 10 months of the year and wild fires are very rare). The insurance commissioners office stepped in and forced Progressive to continue to insure homes in our area and we were told the insurance would renew, but were not told our automatic payment arrangement was discontinued and we would need to renew this. Well, our HO policy did not renew for non-payment and our house was not insured for two weeks. (We found this out on our own and had to call in, when I feel they should have called us immediately when it didnt renew, because I had spoken with Russell confirming we wanted to renew it) I called Secord and Shane Secord answered, was very short with me and kind of rude and blamed this on me saying I should have known that our automatic payment arrangement had been canceled, even though our HO policy never was canceled before the policy renewed and we were not told this had happened. He then called Progressive and they refused to reinstate the HO policy. I chose to break off our relationship with Secord, because of all this and am happily insured elsewhere.
