Safeco Insurance - Seattle (WA)

1 /5 Kristina Young: I have had Safeco for over 12 years- home and auto. I won’t go into details, but they allowed my policy to be rewritten by a 3rd party without my consent and added another driver onto my policy without my consent. I can’t image that was legal. That aside, with no changes in coverage, my premium went up 50% and the ONLY thing that’s changed is that I got a divorce. No claims, no tickets, my credit score is better than it was a year ago and I work from home. So basically- we’re setting women’s rights back another 100 years. My ex-husband didn’t get a policy increase with the divorce. And he’s had claims. How is this not sexist? I’m shopping for a new carrier after 12 years. Stay away if you’re a woman.

1 /5 Donald Bergquist: How does a insurance company that has such horrendous ratings still exist. How can they get away with treating not only their own customers but the poor unfortunate people like myself that suffer a accident with someone carrying their insurance. I mean the body shops I went to literally was getting ready to schedule my truck for repairs when I told him that the person responsible has Safeco insurance. He said "We work with every insurance company in WA state on a contingency level except safeco! Their "investigators" are basically Con artists". And boy was he right 3 shops quoted the damage to my truck which liability was never a question at between $9700-$11600... They gave me $3500. And mind you 1200 of that was to cover my rental car. Apparently since the claims rep got me a extra few hundred bucks over what the cap was for a rental I was supposed to be OK with the thousands of dollars I still havent been able to come up with to get my truck fixed. Almost 40 grand into the truck had just got it paid off when this happens. Is their anyway to get justice for what should be criminal charges? If so please let me know. I hope you at least pass all the scam $ your company generates from shady offers gets passed onto your clients because your insurance shouldnt cost more than 5 bucks a month!

1 /5 Beth Knight: How can an insurance company charge a customer for automobile insurance for a daughter who lives 3000 miles away, has a lease in her own name, is a college student, does NOT own a car and is not coming home to drive a car? I have tried to resolve this issue with Safeco, their complaint department and their CEO. No response...instead, they sent it to a collection agency. My credit score is 795 and Safeco is about to change 40 + years of having excellent credit. Shame on you! For $136? I call this DESPERATE!

1 /5 Justin Padleski: WARNING- Do not get a flat tire! You will be stranded, youll need to pay the tow company in cash and youll be waiting a month to be fully reimbursement... Our car had a flat tire in the middle of moving. My wife was stuck with the vehicle and our dog for several hours and we were given no ETA on the tow truck after several requests. I was forced to drive 2 1/2 hours to be with my wife and to see if I could fix the issue. Once the tow truck driver arrived. The driver waited for over an hour and a half to receive "approval" from Safeco to tow the vehicle. I called several times begging for them to call the company to approve the tow. Again, after an hour and half of the driver waiting, I was forced to pay the driver with cash. Loraines customer service was horrifically unacceptable. If she doesnt care about helping her stranded customers, then maybe she should find a job doing something else. After a few weeks I received a reimbursement check with the wrong name on it... Here we are about a month after and the issue(s) are still not resolved. I tried to file a complaint, and they said their customer service team was outsourced. So of course it went nowhere... I was with State Farm for 20 years and made the switch.. What a mistake that was. Do yourself a favor and avoid this company.

1 /5 Jennifer Dancer: I was with Safeco insurance for over 12 years without a single accident. Then when I had an accident they jacked my rates up to $240/mo. $120 increase. When I changed insurance companies, and closed out my account, a random $50 shows up saying that I still owed money. I didnt get the notice for a couple of weeks, from the time that I ended the insurance till exactly 30 days later they sent me to collections. I didnt even know that I owed them anything and it wouldnt allow me to pay on the app. Crazy after 12 years of service, they would send me to collections over 30 days, especially after never being late on a payment. No forgiveness. This insurance is disgusting. P
