1 /5 Kris Hudgens: I received a call from a number I didn’t recognize, so I declined it. The person called right back, I sent it to voicemail, and then they immediately called again. Thinking it must be urgent, I answered. The caller knew my name. When I asked who he was, he simply said, “Brian – you owe $61.40.”
I asked who he was with and what I supposedly owed. He was vague and rude, and when I said I would call the company directly, I hung up. I then contacted the company (a mental health facility) that had sent me to collections. They confirmed it was Proficio Financial Services, and admitted they’ve received multiple complaints about them being rude.
I also pointed out how dangerous it is for a collections agency to call patients from a mental health facility in this aggressive, dismissive way. One wrong word can push someone into a tailspin. She agreed.
All of this harassment—for $61.40. Absolutely unprofessional, insensitive, and unacceptable. I would not recommend dealing with Proficio Financial Services under any circumstances.
