1 /5 Caitlin Rasmussen: I strongly do not recommend working with Chris Neathamer at Neathamer Insurance Agency.
Our experience with him has been incredibly frustrating due to his lack of professionalism, poor communication, and dismissive attitude. Here are the major issues we encountered:
1. Refusal to Cancel Policies or Shop for Better Rates: Chris ignored multiple requests to cancel policies or shop for more affordable options, keeping us in high-premium policies unnecessarily (which I can only assume was for his benefit).
2. Unreasonable Expectations About Business Operations: As a business, we frequently purchase new equipment, and every time we requested to add equipment to our policy, he would get upset and insist we needed to notify him beforehand—something that makes no sense since insurance follows the purchase, not the other way around.
3. Failure to Assist with Major Errors (A Few Years Back): After an insurance audit resulted in an $8,000 (approx) deduction from our account right before Christmas due to an error on the insurer’s side, Chris refused to help resolve it, dismissing it as “it is what it is.” I had to spend hours resolving the issue myself, which should have been his responsibility as our agent.
4. Patronizing and Dismissive Behavior: Chris frequently explained basic insurance concepts in a condescending tone, which felt unnecessarily patronizing and possibly related to my being a woman.
Overall, Chris Neathamer has shown a lack of professionalism and respect for his clients’ time and needs. We are transitioning all of our policies away from his agency and cannot recommend his services to others.
