1 /5 Bridget: The worst customer service experience I have ever had.
I cancelled my policy with this firm back in March and they invoiced me several times for outlandish pro-rated premiums. Our monthly payment was $288. They tried to invoice me for over $600, eventually adjusted it to over $400, and then a few months later told us over the phone that we owed them nothing and it was a resolved matter. Yesterday I received a call from a collections agency stating I owe Farmers $130. Absolutely floored we tried calling them again - they explained to us that we left an entire month unpaid.
I initiated an email exchange and numerous times asked why our bill was sent to collections without ever properly invoicing us and never received an answer. Not once have I been apologized to for this severe lack of basic customer service. They explained why we owe $130 and we are paying it, but that is no excuse for this type of egregious service. Never get a policy through Farmers if you ever might leave for a better offer. We ended up leaving them for American Family Insurance after they offered us significantly more coverage for almost half the premium. Who knew something that should have been so simple could be a four-month nightmare?
