1 /5 Kevin Peurrung: I was happy with my 1 year, paid up front renter policy from Brett. What I wasnt happy with was when he decided to start charging my card after the policy stopped. I quickly contacted him after seeing the charges on my account statements, however, after assuring me he had stopped the mystery charges and sent me a refund, they continued for over a year, and no refund ever came. I kept contacting him and his agency to get them to stop, but it was not until he had charged me an extra 200% of the original cost of my one time insurance policy that they finally stopped charging my card. After a few more months of calling, they finally issued me a refund. The whole time they acknowledged I had no policy with them, they had no reason to charge me, and I didnt even have an account with them where I could stop the charges. The time I had to put in to stop the charges was not worth the insurance policy. This was some of the most unprofessional service I have ever experienced, and it is clear that they do not know how to control the billing of their clients. I am sure I am not the only one with out of control billing charges or mystery money being taken from a bank account. Until they figure out how to properly charge their customers, I would highly recommend seeking insurance elsewhere.
Edit to reply--Brett told me, in writing, in 2022: "It has been completed and canceled back to when you moved. A refund check will be sent out". That was in 2022, and apparently it was a lie. Its 2024 and I still had to call to fight for my refund. It was irresponsible of the company to put me on automatic monthly withdrawals in the first place since my policy was explicitly paid fully up front and only lasted a year, and as you guys acknowledged, I never had an account where I could turn on or off automatic withdrawals. You guys chose to take money out of my bank account in a way I could not control, and then lied about canceling it and refunding me. I had no obligation to notify you about moving or cancel anything because my policy ended after one year and was paid up front. This is what our contract said. I appreciate your help Eddie to work this out on the phone, but the agency probably should be better equipped to not fabricate charges against their former customers, and if pointed to a situation like this one, should be able to fix it fast and should certainly not lie to their customers. Do better.
