Daniel Wendelmeier The only bad thing I can say is that the connection on the phone kept dropping so they had to call me back several times. According to the sign on the door they are closed to the public because of the pandemic but are still inside working. Interesting. My dad applied for Utility Assistance, they couldnt help him right away but gave me numbers to local churches that did end up helping us. I guess it helps to know whats in your community. Whoever it was that answered the phone said that January 1 started a new year for them and they have to call people applying in the order that the applications come in. Since it was February 1, I would imagine that means there are people in front of my dad. When they told me they cover 5 counties. I was shocked it wasnt just Giddings/ Lee county, so I can understand that theyre probably super busy. Thank you for helping me get my dad taken care of and for getting us to a church to help while we wait for a call.

Cristy Brown I have had a great experience moving into Athens two years ago and First State Bank has been a big part of of helping my husband and I with setting up investments and financing in our transition. C. Mayo Even though my property taxes are low, I have very little monthly discretionary income and always take advantage of the installment payments offered to seniors. For the past couple of years, Ive used my banks bill pay to send the payments, but theres only room on those checks for a tiny amount of info to explain what the payment is for, and I always worry about the payment getting to the right place. This year, the tax office mailed me a tax receipt after my final payment showing that my account had been paid in full, and I really appreciated that! Its always good to set a worry to rest. Kayli Shipman The staff and Tina are extremely thoughtful and caring. They sent me a hand written card and were so sincere. The card was hand crafted and took time, energy and thought into it and was so appreciated! I had called requesting a transaction and had to call to cancel the same transaction shortly after-there was no grievance in having to do so and I was met with kindness and understanding!
