T Josh (A_lil_freak2) I am not a customer and never will be. I was, however hit on my electric scooter by a 3/4 ton Dodge truck driven by one of their insured in Austin, Texas where it was proven that the driver was at fault. And my scooter was destroyed.
Due to the fact that I was just bruised up and not severely injured, it was going to be a small claim so I chose not to hire an attorney thinking that it would be a quick resolution. Boy was I wrong. Not only do they move at a snails pace, they are also refusing to replace my $800 scooter that was run over by the truck and another car. If which I only asked for $400 to replace it.
After doing everything they asked of me, I am 7 months in and still have not even had my property replaced. Though I was told to provide the model and price of my scooter in lieu of the receipt. They chose to change their mind and not pay to have my scooter replaced. Hard to do when it was a gift and bought used. They say I should have a bill of sale and a title like a vehicle.
They have had my $1900 in medical bills for 5 months and have told me to date that they are waiting on a third party to attempt to save a few bucks. Forcing me to wait on any sort of compensation. Knowing that the hospital will deny any such request.
As of today, I am having to take this multi-million dollar companys customer to small claims court because they refuse to compensate me in a timely manner. Funny thing is that my total damages are only $2,300. With at most $1800 for pain and suffering.
The reason that I am posting this here is because if anything happens, and an accident happens, there is a chance that Fred Loya will not compensate the victim. Forcing you to go to court and pay the claim yourself, which is likely going to happen here. Kinda defeats the purpose of insurance.
