1 /5 Mariano Garcia: I went yesterday to get a surety bond for three vehicles. At the office I told the lady that I was customer of that location and that it wasn’t the first time I needed surety bonds for the vehicles that I sale. She didn’t look very knowledgeable but I gave her a vote of trust. We both agreed that I would leave the documents with her while I was running other errands for my business and that she would call me when she got them ready. Well, that’s what I did. Later she called me to tell me that my documents were finally ready but my surprise when I went back is that they weren’t.
She still needed to log in in her computer, type in information , print them... I was waiting patiently even after I told her that I had an appointment with a customer out of town.
When she printed the first couple of documents I found out that some info was missing. The most important missing thing was the information of the vehicle I was getting the surety bond for. I told her I knew it was needed because I am familiar with the process. Then, she called one of her coworkers at another location and they kept saying that the way she’d done it was the right way tondo it and that it was how the DMV wanted it. I said I didn’t have time left because I had to go. I asked her if she could please give me back my paperwork and I’d double check with the DMV.
She was reticent to give it back to me after asking her serveral times . She’d say “ let me try again and find out what was wrong”. Finally , she gave me back my documents and I left the place in a rush. This morning when I sat at my office checking with copies of other surety bonds I have done in the past I discovered that I was right indeed but I also found out that one of the documents from the first vehicle she was trying to get the surety bond for was missing.
Long story short, I called her and she said she didn’t have it. She didn’t show any interest of finding it either and I’m still waiting for an apology after what happened.
Now I have to go back to the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles and get a copy of all the paperwork.
