1 /5 Elijiah Goodyear: Absolutely terrible service. Brandon and his team got our insurance quote smoothly to help with closing, and their “5 star service” stopped shortly thereafter. When they never submitted our policy for binding, never notified us our new property was uninsured or anything. They just left us sitting, with an uninsured house for MONTHS before citizens returned our escrow payment and our “agents” realized something was wrong and tried to fix it. They did this by lying to me and blaming the entire situation on citizens insurance. Even called me to tell me how these things happen, and belittle my intelligence and knowledge of the process. When I tried to implore that they talk to Citizens on my behalf, as an insurance agency is supposed to do, I was told there was no point as Citizens never answers the phone, and that American Option couldn’t be bothered, that they “ already put more effort into this file than they were getting paid for”… yes I was actually told that, instead of the truth, that they failed to submit our documents and secure the policy we had paid and agreed to. After calling citizens they answered the phone rather quickly, immediately got a manager on the phone, and walked me through their notes on file from each interaction they’d had with American Option, and that American Option had completely failed to do anything for my policy beyond securing a quote. Awesome service right?! I am now 6 months out from closing and am paying TWICE the insurance rate I originally paid for, and it keeps getting increased. If I could give zero stars I would! Absolutely DO NOT trust your home buying and livelihood to this lazy, unprofessional, and unaccountable institution.
