United States Postal Service - Delhi (NY)

1 /5 Brittany Donato: The worst USPS service I’ve ever encountered, never in my 31 years of living have I experienced such awful service, nor have I had a day where my mail wasn’t delivered. Since moving here I’ve had a handful of packages marked as, “not accessible” on a clear sunny day. Seems like an excuse just so they didn’t have to stop and deliver a package or my mail, this has happened multiple days in a row now. It is also the holiday season and I’m sure many people are expecting their last minute gifts in the mail, and because of this postal office they might not get them. The exact wording I receive on my end is “Delivery attempted, but front door or driveway was not accessible,” which is a complete lie. This is someone’s only job that they have to do in a very small town I might add, and they still can’t deliver my mail everyday. I’ve lived in a heavy populated area my whole life and NEVER was my mail marked as “undeliverable.” It came everyday, on time with no issue. The mail here is lucky to get into our mailbox before 6pm. The point of Amazon is to be delivered in 2-3 days, but because of this “postal office” mine take almost a week, and sometimes the items are important and needed in a timely fashion. I’m not sure if more help is needed at this postal office, but someone needs to figure it out so things can run more smoothly and people get their mail/packages everyday.

1 /5 ginger baldassano: While the service inside the office itself is okay, the delivery is absolutely awful. I have gone 3 to 4 days without getting any mail delivered! This is not including packages, just..regular mail. Its insane thst they can get away with this and when someone calls and asks they give excuse after excuse and no solution to fix it. Packages? Forget about it. Now that my regular mail lady has retired, if they dont fit in the mailbox I have to wait for days for those to be delivered as well after being told that its out for delivery.

1 /5 mosfet500: Horrible service. If the weekly delivery person is not delivering or it is a weekend I dont get my mail or packages. Worse, they blame it on me - "not accessible"!! The latest: "Out for delivery" - never got it! New message next day, "your package is available for pick up at the post office."

2 /5 Rebecca Lynn: I understand that people are human and that they make mistakes but when the mistake is on your end you dont be rude to the individual that is on the other end of the mistake. A substitute delivery person failed to realize they had a package for our stop and marked the package as being undeliverable and therefore instead of correcting their error just left it till the next day which probably reflects the training they received. If its not necessary, items in the package dont really need to freeze so I figured that the person delivering had to return at some point so I stopped at the post office to inquire as to whether I could pick it up instead of waiting for the fairly expensive contents to be delivered the next day and trusting in a service that obviously isnt foolproof. At the time I stopped into the post office I spoke with an older individual, a little shorter with tattoos on their forearm and short hair; they were not the friendliest to say the least, and they informed me that the delivery driver wasnt back yet. OK great. So I requested of my mom to stop and see almost 2 hours later, right before the post office would be closing for the day, and see if the driver and the package made it back yet. When my mom stopped she dealt with the same individual who felt the need to be even ruder to my mother and exclaimed that "someone had JUST been in an hour and a 1/2 ago to ask the same thing". Good, because due to incompetence somewhere in your system that expensive package is floating around in your possession longer than it needs to be, the error was on your end so there was no need to be rude to the individual trying to help you correct it. Youre a government employee, you really need to treat customers with respect. I have spent almost thirteen years in customer service and I am well aware that the way that individual treated me, and especially my mother, is not approved of by any place that employs people, Im sure especially a government entity. Im sure that the employee had lots to do in their day but all they had to do was say "sorry maam the driver isnt back yet" there was no need for them to say any more on the subject and definitely no need to say it in the tone with the level of attitude that they said it with. Though I have dealt with this person in my service job and I can say that its not just there its literally everywhere that they are the most unfriendly individual and probably shouldnt be in that position.

1 /5 Kyle: Ive had multiple packages late from this post office because the people who deliver decide they just dont want to come up to where I live. I went in today because i had a status update from the post office saying my package was held and I wasted my own time going there just to realize they didnt even have my package and it was with whoever was delivering today who just didnt feel like going up my road. Yall have a job to do and apparently you dont feel like doing it.
