Salem Farm Supply, Inc. - Fort Edward (NY)

1 /5 Bonnie Baker: I had my cub cadet rider picked up on June 16th. On July 1st, I spoke to Joe who said they were waiting on a part to come in. Called Joe again on July 9th. He said part was in, but they were swamped. Hoped to have it ready by Friday, July 11th. Personally went into Salem Farm Supply on 07/15- Spoke to Billie Jo. She said the belts were never ordered. She felt bad that I had been waiting so long. She ordered the belts while I stood in front of her. She said she was putting a rush on them and hoped to have them the next day. She said if they came in that the mower should be ready by Friday - July 18. Today is July 25th- Still NOTHING. Very upset. ***Just an FYI - This business changed hands last March (2025) and since changing from Emerich to Salem Farm Supply service has definitely gone south. All positive reviews from before March 2025 does not apply to this new management.

1 /5 Chris Cote: I had the worst interaction with a company Ive ever had. Ill preamble with a statement that my person to person interaction was not the issue. I had what I thought was a simple job. I had 2 lawn tractor tires that needed to be mounted. The job was to remove the old tire and Mont the new ones I gave to them. I was quoted at $18 per tire to mount them. I figured it was a 20 min job and that they could do it while I was there. The employee tells me probably in a day the job will be done and they will call me when to pick them up. Ok no problem. 3 days go by, no call. I call on the 4th day and leave a message. 2hrs no call back. I call again, someone from another area answers and cant help me out with my inquiry. He takes a message for the service department. Ok np. 2 more hours go by. I call again. The service department answers and almost immediately try and call me back later. OMG. well he puts me on hold to figure this out. 20 min later they tell me yeah "they are done and sitting on the floor behind me" OMG. I arrive at the store. They have a new system so its taking a while to find my receipt. Np. Starts by saying I owe them $63. I said I thought it was a $18 per tire charge. He said it is but I guess this business charges 30 min labor time on top of the labor charge. I took the old tires with me, yet I was charged $6.50 disposal fee. OMG. I paid because Im never doing business with them again I wouldnt say they are incompetent. They do a bait and switch. They charge for work not done. They do not have control of the jobs they are doing and have horrible customer communication. I do not recommend doing business with this company.

5 /5 john rabideau: My experience with Emerich Sales and Service has always been favorable. I use their services for all my mowers, blowers and line trimmers. I have the utmost trust in the technicians there. The staff is knowledgeable and always friendly. Suzanne is a charm!

2 /5 Jo Smith: I usually dont do this, but the PARTS DEPARTMENT IS NOT WHAT IT USED TO BE. EVERYTIME I call down there, they cant find us in the computer. I have bought several things for my side by side and my lawn mower through them. I called them to see if they had a part for my lawn mower, which i have gotten the same part there before and after being on the phone for 15 minutes and being told that we werent in the computer system someone in the back ground stated that yes they are and read our information off. They also read off the part number of the item that I needed and stated that they didnt have it, but there other store did and it would be there in a couple of days. I stopped a few days later, to get my part, they couldnt find me in the computer again, and no part!

5 /5 Richard Schnurbusch: The Fort Edward’s Emerich technicians were able to diagnose the problem with my Cub Cadet quickly and get it back to us in a timely manner. Suzanne in Service is wonderful, very personable and easy to work with. Manager Billy Jo has been beyond helpful as is the entire team there. We buy all of our equipment at the Fort Edward’s location and have our service completed there when needed. Top notch!!
