1 /5 Kyla Guese: I’m writing this review to inform future shoppers about Lovisa’s return and hygiene policy practices, as my recent experience left much to be desired in terms of transparency and customer service.
Unfortunately, the store does not display or communicate its return or hygiene policy anywhere visible before purchase—neither in-store signage nor during the checkout interaction. The only time you see the policy is after the purchase, printed on the receipt. For policies involving final sale items or hygiene-related restrictions, this lack of disclosure is concerning. In most retail environments, especially when dealing with products worn on the body, it’s standard for staff to inform customers of any non-refundable or final sale items upfront.
The explanation I received from the salesperson regarding hygiene felt inconsistent and unconvincing. While she cited hygiene as a reason for the policy, the reality is that most items in the store are displayed openly, with no protective packaging, and are handled by many customers before purchase. Items are hanging on racks, unsealed, and staff handle them directly after using the register—hardly a controlled or sterile process.
In my view, the store’s setup does not align with the strict “hygiene” argument, and the lack of pre-purchase policy disclosure feels misleading. If you’re considering shopping here, just be aware that all purchases may be final—regardless of circumstances—and that the store relies on post-purchase receipt printing to convey this.
BOTTOM LINE: THIS STORE IS A RIP OFF
