The only unsatisfying answers are: this is our policy or I will be happy to close your account. When last year I requested foreign currency exchange they promised me 5 days processing. It happened in 14 days after my vacation in Iceland. I had to cancel the request and lost my money on this transaction. My relatives did the same transaction in Oswego branch and money were ready next day. My recent visit with simple deposit was also no fun. Surprise of new policy. Banks must follow strict regulations and compliance requirements, which sometimes limit what they can do. This doesn’t mean they are unwilling to help—it’s simply a matter of compliance.
