1 /5 Christopher Maiorana: Terrible experience. After an initial mistake on which accounts to work with, I still tried to work with them. I did want more assurances on strategy to feel confident we were on the same page. I did this as I was setting up accounts at Schwab. For whatever reason, they just didnt answer my questions. Too busy I guess. This is an issue with multiple middle men involved for Private products. My advisor said - "this has been the worst onboarding experience with an RIA partner Ive had in my career at TD/Schwab". Ouch. So its not just me being picky.

In this review, I will outline some glaring concerns that have come to light during my time with this firm, shedding light on their unethical billing practices, poor fiduciary duties, and a concerning lack of accountability. One of the most concerning aspects of my experience with Chicago Partners has been their unethical billing practices. Despite promising transparent and fair fee structures, their billing statements have been riddled with hidden charges and questionable expenses. This lack of transparency is concerning, as it raises doubts about the firms commitment to acting in the best interest of their clients. Furthermore, Chicago Partners has demonstrated a disheartening lack of fiduciary responsibility. As an RIA firm, their primary duty should be to act in the best interests of their clients, putting client welfare above their own. However, my interactions with the firm have left me with the impression that their pursuit of profits takes precedence over the well-being of their clients. The conduct of both the CEO and employees has been nothing short of arrogant. Instead of fostering a client-centric environment, the leadership and staff at Chicago Partners exude an aura of superiority, displaying an unfortunate lack of humility and empathy towards their clients concerns. Moreover, my attempts to address issues with the firm have been met with resistance and refusal to acknowledge any wrongdoing. Instead of taking responsibility for their missteps, Chicago Partners appears to deflect blame and sidestep accountability. This evasive behavior raises serious doubts about their commitment to self-improvement and growth as a responsible financial institution. In addition to their questionable billing practices and fiduciary duties, I am deeply concerned about Chicago Partners investment choices. Some of the investments theyve recommended or implemented on my behalf have left me questioning their judgment and due diligence. It seems they prioritize their own interests or partnerships over objectively sound investment decisions. Lastly, their communication with clients leaves much to be desired. Instead of addressing concerns with empathy and understanding, they tend to resort to a defensive stance, portraying themselves as victims rather than finding solutions to the issues at hand. As an investor seeking a reliable and trustworthy RIA firm, I cannot recommend Chicago Partners as a suitable choice. It is essential for investors to prioritize transparency, ethical conduct, and genuine client care, qualities that seem to be lacking at Chicago Partners.

Please look at Chicago Partners response to that review before taking that review into consideration. Now, for my honest assessment as a REAL client of Chicago Partners. I have been with CP for 6 years and each and every time I have an interaction with them I am thoroughly impressed and thankful they are my partner in wealth management. The industry of wealth management has evolved and CP is at the cusp of that evolution. From fair and equitable rates to suggestions on various investment ideas that the general public is not aware of (I work in the financial industry and was not aware of all these different investment vehicles) CP checks so many boxes. Honest, hard working, knowledgable, analytical, creative, caring, and a wonderful fiduciary to have in your corner as you execute your financial plans. This is what wealth managers should aspire to replicate. One of the best financial decisions I have made was going with CP!
