1 /5 James Kern: Always rude tellers in the drive thru. If you say “hi, how are you?”, you would assume they would be polite enough to answer back. Besides this, definitely the slowest bank I have ever used. I do not recommend this location.

1 /5 melvin garmon: Horrible customer service. No one will help you. Excuses for everything and it seems systems are always down. This is my 3rd day since I opened my account. Cant get a debit card, cant get any answers. The branch manager doesnt help. Seems to have less knowledge than the employees. He is no help whatsoever! He is good at apologizing and that is all. Im going to close my account after 3 days of opening it. I will go with a more reputable bank, where they treat you like a customer and want your business. I dont see how this location is still open.

2 /5 Gina Rios: The staff is wonderful. But if Im being completely honest, the fact that the ATM NEVER works is extremely inconvenient. I expect this from time to time, but for days on end, and all weekend long when the bank is closed? And this is the case month after month. Ive had to drive to other counties to take out the amounts Ive needed 3 separate times just in the past few weeks because the amount was too much to go get cash back at a store. And I shouldnt have to keep buying stuff at a store when I need cash. Its getting ridiculous. Everything else about this bank I love. Id hate to have to close my personal and business accounts over ATM issues.

1 /5 L L: Not very helpful at all. I called to confirm that wire information was correct and they would not confirm any of the information. I had all info, just needed verification that the info was correct before sending a wire. Super frustrating but worse for their client not me. I just mailed him a paper check instead and told him to switch to a better bank.

1 /5 JC Ammons: Apparently, South State doesn’t respect its customers and feels the need to strip them of their lawful rights when they walk through the door. I closed my account after noticing the sign on the door stating “No Concealed Weapons”. Now I guess I could have just open carried and been within my rights, but the fact they felt the need to take away the only means of my personal safety in an obvious high risk environment even after the extensive background check and probate judge deems me appropriate, tells me they don’t respect me nor have the concern for my safety in mind. I’ll go elsewhere with my business and money.
