I paid $15,000 upfront to this firm over two years ago under the promise that they would take my case to court and fight for my exoneration. Instead, I was subjected to blatant negligence, deception, and a total lack of accountability.
Failure to Represent Me Competently
They promised me court dates multiple times—in mid-2023, late 2023, and early 2024—but NEVER followed through. Not once.
Despite having overwhelming evidence proving my innocence, they failed to present it, interview key witnesses, or move my case forward.
I repeatedly asked them to take action, yet they completely ignored my emails and phone calls. I sent over 200 emails and made countless calls, with only a handful of responses.
Dishonest and Fraudulent Billing
After doing virtually nothing to advance my case, they had the audacity to claim that they had used up my entire $15,000 retainer without providing any meaningful service.
Then, as if that wasn’t bad enough, they hit me with a fraudulent bill for an additional $38,000!
Their billing statement is an absolute joke—filled with excessive charges for pointless internal emails, brief phone calls, and “file updates” that amounted to NOTHING.
They never disclosed any additional fees upfront, yet they are now demanding tens of thousands of dollars on top of my initial payment.
Lack of Communication & Accountability
They ignored my repeated requests for a detailed accounting of my funds for over nine months, only producing a bill AFTER I demanded a refund.
Attorney Paul Wallin outright lied to me, stating that they would provide me with a billing statement, only to continue stalling and avoiding my emails.
When I was wrongfully jailed for a probation violation, their assigned attorney failed to appear in court multiple times, forcing me to remain incarcerated for nearly a month!
Their private investigator misled me, telling me to contact a key witness and then later accusing me of harassment for following his exact instructions.
They knowingly allowed false accusations against me to go unchallenged and never once attempted to correct the lies that had already been exposed.
This Law Firm is a SCAM
Wallin & Klarich is not a real defense firm—they are con artists who prey on vulnerable people in desperate situations, taking their money and doing absolutely NOTHING in return.
I am now filing a complaint with the California State Bar Association for gross negligence, unethical billing practices, failure to communicate, and misrepresentation. I am also pursuing civil litigation to recover my funds and expose their fraudulent behavior.
