By mistake or intent, someone added themselves to my address. Farmers automated systems noticed and added them to my policy. I have a clean driving record with no claims on either my auto or renters policy, but as a result of this activity Farmers was going to raise my premium by 240%. In reviewing my policy, Cathy flagged this and brought it to my attention. I usually dont look too closely at my policy because of my record. She and her staff were able to correct that error and remove this unknown person from my policy.
That was not the end of it, however. Farmers did not change my bill. They were still going to charge me more than twice my current rate once my policy renewed. Once this was brought to her attention, not only did Cathy make sure Farmers corrected their mistake, she found me an additional discount I qualified for to drop my rates even lower than they would have been.
This is a great example of how dealing with a local agent, a real person instead of a web page and the computer behind it, can be hugely beneficial. I have had several different agents with Farmers as I have moved around California and each has worked hard to represent me with the company. Cathy and her staff are the best of the best in this.
