1 /5 Tanisa Bailey: Only at this branch are they so limited in what they can do. Came in today to follow up on formal request made yesterday on getting a personal check hold taken off since I deposited it on Monday the holiday and the teller asked the manager who denied it. I’ve written the same types of checks and deposited/cashed these in this branch multiple times. The problem is that many times I make a request or something similar at the branch on pearl street and it is always approved. The staff at that branch are relaxed, calm, happy, helpful, unsuspicious, trusting whereas this branch on Custer is always met with denials, guardedness, helplessness not helpfulness, I’m afraid this is because of the demographics in this community and biases and issues related and lack of past branch manager (middle aged white female who always looked hardened and never smiled) being able to work with bipoc community passed down to current management ( young white female? ) I’m not sure if there are more issues of fraud of aggression here but it is definitely transferring to me and I’m not doing fraud or being aggressive, why are these issues being generalized to everyone in a whole community through your policies and procedures and why do I have to go to another branch in a community where there are less people like me to be treated decent. You definitely need to look at your biased policies and procedures for your branch or shut it down cause I’m definitely thinking of making the other branch my main branch. I already go there when I need to make a request to be approved. Have also thought about making a formal complaint. Thus branch just reminds me of marginalization so often. Many of the staff just look spooked or stiff in interactions, not all but many. I am a business owner and it just doesn’t feel good. I’ve been in this community for 10+ years and it’s just sad.
