I lost my mother very suddenly while I had a loan with them and had incurred extra expenses way outside of my budget in order to fly my family down to California last minute to deal with the funeral, house, trust, etc and was not able to make payments for a short period of time (and had to take time off work to do this too). I explained this to them and that as soon as the trust was settled Id not only be able to resume payments, but pay it off in full, but my family and dealing with the loss of my mother came first. It sounded like they understood and I had a strong payment history up until this point as well - it wasnt as if I had missed payments like this before, but they still called me multiple times a week, every week until the point I paid it off. It took a few months to sell the house and settle the trust and I wasnt even asking for them to stop interest or late fees or whatever, just to stop calling me all the time asking for money - I knew Id be paying it off in full, so the few extra charges were meaningless compared to the time I needed to spend with family at the time . There was no compassion, no caring for what I was dealing with. They just wanted their money and were acting like bullies to get it at a time when I was vulnerable. Id never, ever deal with this company again and I strongly recommend anyone steer clear of them.
