1 /5 Topaz Maskian: Sigh* I hate giving bad reviews , but really I dont even know what this guys problem is... I spoke with his team member on Friday and she was very helpful and kind stating: "Let me talk to ____ about this. One of us will give you a call back on Monday and if we cant help you we will find someone who can." Monday (right before lunch time) this person calls me back and his voice was annoyed and unmistakabley dismissive.
He would ask me a question and then without letting me complete my response he would interrupt me with negative little comments like " yea if you can sell them"
"Yea no it doesnt work that way"
" problem is companies make the rules"
"Theyll just devalue it and say it only made____ "
"yea i dont have anyone to refer you to"
"Well it should have done well last year look at the market, stupid" (okay he didnt say stupid lol but he might as well have!)
And then he just referred me back to the same company he vilified saying "They will try to rip you off because thats what companies do and they will offer way less than they are worth,"
Finally after he interrupted me AGAIN I laughingly said
"Wow do you have anything positive to say?, I mean your so negative"
His response was this:
"Im just realistic, okay?" and I could only think, wow that was a waste of my time, never considering how much money I could have invested with Edward Jones.
So I asked him if hes ever referred clients to Sharespost or Forge (Private or pre ipo brokers) he said "Nope, never heard of them"
Im just blown away, I mean I heard about them from Forbes, they find buyers for smaller companies who havent went public with stock options. This would have been a good referral and a teachable moment for the guy who doesnt know of any brokers to refer the little people to....Just saying..
Really though It only takes a kind word, a little encouragement, or one decent referral to make a persons day...
