1 /5 Grace Easter: I would recommend looking for another tax professional. The process of completing the taxes went great, but Clive never filed my OR State tax return. I was expecting a sizeable return that was going to help pay for a new roof and some structural issues in my new home. After two months and no return I sent a secure message through the company portal which I had used during the initial filing, the responses then were very quick. After a week with no reply, I called 3 times & left a voicemail. Another week passed and still no call back or message. Then my husband called and Clive answered right away. I was given the phone since I knew all of the details. Clive tried to blame me for the taxes not being filed and said "we mailed the paperwork to you so you could file" and my response was "no, I vividly remember you were going to electronically file which I did not know was possible with those specific tax forms, I went back and told my mom there is a way to e-file because shes been mailing in for 30+ years." He then proceeded with "okay well Ill file it right now while youre on the phone." Which he did. I then asked if there would be a penalty for my taxes being 2 months late and he assured me there wouldnt be anything to worry about. That was over 2.5 months ago and I still have not received my refund and the OR State Tax website is saying there is a 10-30% penalty for late taxes. Im very upset that Clive was unresponsive and then tried to blame the situation on me when it was not in any way my fault. He also misinformed me about any penalties incurred with late filing. I even tried to contact him again to see if he could check on the status and no one answered.
