1 /5 Catherine Smith: I have had my home and vehicles insured with AmFam well over 15 years, specifically with this office/Christopher Boston. After all these years, I made the decision to move on. Within the last three years, weve been called to announce a new rate increase 3 times!!! The first time was not long after covid and with no explanation-an just increased because. The second was about a year ago and added on an additional ridiculous increase!! I asked why and got a mumbled nonsense excuse, kia and Hyundai mess. We dont own either. But this last go around, He called while im in the waiting room for an appointment to tell me its GOING UP AGAIN. it went from $140 to $270, and now he wants $301 per month. Mind you, no tickets. no accidents, no claims in over fifteen years.... Agai, no reasonable explanation was given. A couple minutes on the phone with Progressive and Savings is huge.. back down under $200. House motorcycle and cars. But its not just price. We had scheduled an appointment on a Friday afternoon to review this latest increase with Christopher himself.
And he no showed ...no phone call.No email, no explanation.Just straight up, no one showed, and this was after both my husband and myself took the afternoon off to be able to meet with him over the phone. His receptionist was polite and tried to cover his tracks. But he never bothered to call and apologize or anything for that matter. His receptionist is kind and helpful, and thats about the only positive thing that I can say about his operation. If you are insured insured with am.Fam especially this agency, do yourself a favor and shop around. Start with progressive.Youll be amazed at the difference in customer service AND premium. Its too bad he Didnt think more of his clients to at least show up for an appointment And explain why our rates were going up the third time in under 3 years...horrible customer service and rates.
Good luck, Mr. Boston and goodbye!
