1 /5 David del Rio: After my mother passed away, the house remained in my mothers name for years. The why is a long story, but we had to pay my mothers insurance as we were not authorized to procure insurance for the home. Meanwhile, this State Farm branch informed us that my mothers monthly home insurance was $250.
You read that correctly. Thats more than my insurance for my home in Austin, TX--which is worth at least twice what my mothers is worth. We explained the issue. They didnt care. We needed a new roof, we were told it was too old and had depreciated to worthless. So I imagine nothing could break in the house at this point that the insurance would cover--but still, we paid $250 a month.
I suggest a new insurance company, or at least a different branch. These people dont care who you lost, only that they get paid.
