1 /5 Robert OWD: Contacted Richard the day after my DUI arrest. I wish Id called someone else.
After almost two years, he STILL hadnt gotten me in front of a judge. Then had the audacity to tell me that if I didnt pay him the rest of the balance I owed him, he would relinquish all services and no longer represent me. I had told him MONTHS EARLIER that I would pay him the rest of what I owed him ($1200 out of a $3500 balance) when he got me in front of a judge.
Big surprise he got me a court date two weeks later, over two years after my arrest.
I arrived at the courthouse early. Richard arrived over an hour after he was supposed to. He not only had another client there to see the judge, but he also had a client on video call on his phone for THEIR court date!
So when I finally stood in front of the judge, Richard had to keep interrupting and stopping the judge so he could converse with the client on video chat!! I was SO EMBARRASSED. The judge even said in an annoyed tone "Well, THIS is a FIRST."
Finally I got my sentence: Sixteen Months of probation.
Now, I had been told by Richard that he made a deal with the prosecutor to give me TEN MONTHS of probation. I even asked her later about that previous deal and she confirmed, YES I had agreed to give you TEN MONTHS of probation. But for some reason, on the day with the judge, he asked for SIXTEEN MONTHS. I think he was so overwhelmed with all of his clients that he mixed up MY CASE with SOMEONE ELSES. He even took out someone elses file and started going over it with me when I first showed up and I had to correct him!! So unprofessional.
So that is SIX MONTHS EXTRA of probation, which means $600 of court fees and probation fees, and $600 of breathalyzer fees.
All of this after two years of trying to get a hold of him for certain questions, only to be told NUMEROUS TIMES by his secretary that he was either on vacation in Mexico, or visiting one of his daughters in college in HAWAII and CANADA.
Do not hire this guy.
