1 /5 Dawn Phillips: Mrs. McArthur represented me twice and both times she lied to me by telling me I had 2 yrs & 3 months back time which I did... She told me my minimum date was in 3 months... I got to prison and couldnt figure out why I hadnt seen parole... Well it was because my charge doesnt have a minimum... I asked for a polygraph because I did not rob my own house... She said the DA wouldnt let me take one. After I signed for the brown bag special I wrote the judge and he appointed me another attorney and the next day I went to Richard woods office... Told him my story which left him speechless. He went and called Dale came back and said I have no questions to ask... Screwed over once again... McArthur said I was charged with robbery because I didnt help my roommate when my husband put him in a choke hold (thats what he gets for stealing everything we owned) but then when I saw parole he said my paperwork says I punched my roommate. When I told her I wanted to go to trial she said no... Roommate has never been in trouble... A year later STOP set him up and he whose word it would have been against mine is now at the Beto unit with a 17 year sentence for 5 delivery of controlled substance in a drug free zone and gun charge... I have no idea how this woman is still practicing....

1 /5 Dustni lyday: Mr. Hammond was court-appointed to represent my stepson in a criminal case in Hood County, TX. From the start, he pressured him to accept a harsh plea deal of over 4 years without exploring better options. He showed little interest in advocating for his client and appeared inexperienced in criminal law, based on his handling of this case and others we observed in court. His legal assistant was also unhelpful, filing paperwork at the last minute and being difficult to reach. After a few months of poor representation, we fired Mr. Hammond and hired a local attorney who quickly got the charge reduced from a felony to a misdemeanor and recovered bond money that Mr. Hammond never attempted to get back. The final plea was just 30 days Ultimately, it seemed they just don’t care and are in it only for the money! I do not recommend Mr. Hammond or his office for any criminal matters. They were unresponsive, ineffective, and seemed uninterested in the outcome.

1 /5 tom schell: Mrs. McArthur was appointed my special needs Brother on his case. This was a terrible and confusing situation on my end. The first call I had with her was so was very helpful, she knew it was a unusual circumstance and my special needs brother had no business being in jail and told me to contact the Assistant DA’s office and speak to Martin Strayhand. I spoke with him and he agreed to get my Brother out of jail. After that nothing happened for over 5 months while my special needs Brother sat in jail. Until I contacted Disability Rights things started moving fast. that put a fire under everyone’s feet. He was out of jail within 1 week with zero help from this Attorney. He would still be in jail for at least 1 year if I had waited for Mrs. McArthur. Also her receptionist/ office manager Angel is very rude to all professionals and family members. This has been a nightmare having this attorney and I don’t understand how/why she works for the state of Texas. Mrs. Mc Arthur has no business/right removing this review.

5 /5 Anthony Campbell: Johnna was really helpful and caring. During a crazy time she walked me through a fair and complete custody agreement. She told me when I was being unreasonable, and she let me know when I was asking for something fair. I came to her after attempting to use another lawyer, and it was a much better experience. I have a better relationship with my daughter and her mother because of Johnna.
