My family recently spent several years trying to appeal for disability benefits for our disabled adult child through my husband’s retirement benefits. This was an opportunity presented to us by the SSA when my husband started receiving social security payments. After two rejected appeals, we were faced with the option of a hearing before a judge to plead our case. In what can only be termed as serendipity, our other daughter was given Jack McCormick’s name by one of her patients, who raved about his success with her disability case. My family’s experience with Jack McCormick was also praiseworthy.He was readily available and relentless about understanding the details of the information we provided. Equally important was his knowledge of the Social Security system and his acquaintance with the people in that system. This was invaluable in developing an appropriate appeal.
