Farmers Insurance - Tommy Potts - Lubbock (TX)

2 /5 Paul Haley: I had auto insurance with Farmers since 1988 and with the Schoenig / Potts agency since 2002. In those 36 years, I had 2 small claims, under 7k total. Never missed, or was late, on a monthly payment; assumed they were taking care of their loyal, long-term customer. Since COVID, my rates seemed high, but assumed that was industry wide, so didnt worry about it until 1 month ago, decided to shop and compare. To my surprise, discovered I could get same coverage from Progressive for $488 cheaper per month! So I went with them and called my agent, Evie, to ask why they were almost $500 more expensive than Progressive. She said that there was no explanation, companies just have different rates. Then she said, if I would have asked her, she could have given me a policy from Progressive. I asked why she didnt tell me sooner, her response, Farmers is their first priority so they do not tell customers about their cheaper options, unless the customer asks. I wonder what other cost saving options they have that I dont know to ask about??? So, after 36 years, time to say good bye. Paul Haley

5 /5 Craig Barker: Ive been with Tommy (and previously Joe Schoenig) for over 15 years now. They consistently give me awesome service for home, auto, and business insurance. Today I emailed Debbie Drury about a vehicle change and got the new insurance card in less than 10 minutes. This group really cares about the customers and Debbie is awesome! I might could improve my rates a little if I shopped and moved companies every year, but it would ever be enough to justify leaving service like this. Customer for life!

She did an excellent job of explaining the right amount of coverage for my situation, showing me my options and getting me better coverage on my auto and home insurance at less than I was paying. The whole office staff was great and I highly recommend them!

5 /5 the bear: I have been insured with Tommy Potts since he opened for business many years ago as a Farmers insurance agent. He and his staff have been very attentive to both my personal and business needs. Whether it is sending me a copy of my insurance card by email while I am in line at the tag office to helping with one of my companies business needs. They truly offer a high level of service and work to make sure all the bases are covered and you are not caught off guard because something got overlooked. I have been in business over 35 years and have seen bad agencies and great agencies. Tommy and his agency definitely qualify as a top tier agency.

5 /5 Aimee Smitherman: I have insurance through another agency, but I had the pleasure of dealing with a few of the agents employed here. They took the time to explain things to me and actually pointed out my best deal was somewhere else. Ive heard so many complaints from various people about insurance in general, but having dealt with a few poor companies in person, I can guarantee that the Tommy Potts crew are nothing like that. They are extremely helpful and even bend over backwards to make sure they help you as best as they can. Some people just dont understand how the agents have rules they must follow and cant give things away for free. As long as you take the time to actually sit down and talk with someone about what you are looking for, or what you are needing (in a calm manner without copping an attitude or passing the blame off your own shoulders), then 9 times out of 10 they will be able to help you. That is how the Tommy Potts crew works. If there is a way to help you, they do it. Next time I shop insurance, I will start with them, yet again. Thanks especially to their receptionist, Natasha, who is pleasant to speak with, and extremely knowledgeable. She was able to get me the information I needed to make an informed decision!
