1 /5 Mary Matheny: This man is total garbage. He was my boyfriends attorney. The only time he was available was to take money. He never made his visits to discuss his case with Jason. Something came up, or had random resets. Once he finally showed for a court date he shot out a probation deal that was most likely on the table for months or was firm on going to trial if the probation was not accepted. My boyfriend took the plea for probation but none of the deal happened the way arthurpresented it and was of no assistance to even look into anything at all. If you can afford Tom stickler in Brazoria County just take a court appointed lawyer over this clown. He dont even deserve this one star.

1 /5 Rudy Martinez: I reached out to this attorney with the hope of getting help with my ticket. At first, he seemed nice and explained what he could do, which gave me confidence. Unfortunately, my experience was the complete opposite of what I expected. He was quick to take my money but then became almost impossible to reach. When I tried contacting him, he often said he was “busy” or “with family,” showing little concern for his clients. As my court date approached, communication was nearly nonexistent. On the day of court, he didn’t even show up as promised, claiming other things came up. This lack of professionalism, accountability, and basic client care was extremely disappointing. In the end, I had to settle my case on my own because I couldn’t rely on him. Hiring Arthur Simms was the worst attorney experience I’ve ever had. Please be very careful before hiring himhe will take your money and not prioritize your case.

1 /5 torii nuyu: At first I felt like Mr. Sims was the right attorney for me thats why I confidently hired him. I have never been so scared in my life the trouble I was in with an Aggravated Assault on a family member. He never gave me any details of his defense plan, what his intentions were for upcoming court dates and what transpired in court in my absence. He attended all my court appearances without me being present but my case got reset every 3 months for almost a year. Sadly I became homeless with my 4 yr old daughter and he was aware, he was concerned about his money which I understand. As soon as he heard about me paying off the balance he began sharing information he had never told me. He received his final payment and the communication was less. He never prepared me for upcoming court dates, wouldnt respond, he asked for evidence but never took the time to review it before court. My case was stressful I assume, I was offered probation for 3 Years and he never told me which I declined because I was innocent. I never heard from him weeks before court so I attended court. When I told him I was there he asked me to leave the court room like i wasnt allowed to hear what he was saying. Only to hear he wanted to reset my case again 3 months because he got new discovery (evidence I sent him ahead but he didnt know he said was sent from me). Inadequate representation. Had to hire a new lawyer.

1 /5 Colton Chiasson: Had a simple misdemeanor charge, slam dunk dismissal due to clean record. As soon as I paid him some money, he literally went on vacation. I have text messages confirming this. Only ever heard from him if I harassed him with spam texting, and he usually asked for money when we spoke. Only time he ever approached me first was for money. I had to look up all my own court info because he didnt keep me informed of anything at all. When my determination hearing came after almost a year (I had to look this up myself, he informed me of nothing, including the fact that I was required to show up and would have been arrested if I hadnt), I waited for 3 hours, he was a no-show. The court felt bad this had dragged on for so long and dismissed my case! Even the court felt bad because my lawyer sucked! If I hadnt done his job for me, Id have been arrested! So technically, by doing absolutely nothing, he got me the outcome I wanted, just took nearly a year. But Christ, if you want a competent lawyer, dont come to Arthur Sims.

1 /5 Jas Porterie: Hired him back in 2015 for an misdemeanor assault case. He promised me He will get my case dismissed due to the fact I never been in trouble and never have a record. He was very inconsistent. One time I missed court because I never received a court date and he let them put an warrant out for my arrest and the crazy part about it is HE WAS IN THE COURT ROOM THAT DAY REPRESENTING SOMEONE ELSE AND NEVER STOOD UP AND SAID HE WAS RESPENTING ME. Never called, texted, email nothing. I had to find out through a letter in the mail from Galveston county jail. And when I confronted him about it he was very dismissive and didn’t want to take accountability for it. He basically begged me to take a lesser charged (disorderly conduct) and promised me that this will never show up when I apply for jobs, apartment and etc. which is obviously a lie. Ever since I been having trouble getting a apartment and jobs due to this charge. If I would’ve knew what I know now I would of never took that charge. I felt like I was taking advantage of because I was only 21-22 years old at time and he just wanted the money. $2,000 wasted on this man. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND DON’T HIRE ARTHUR SIMS!!!!
