NBT Bank - Johnstown (NY)

4 /5 Echo Expansion: For the most part they are good for your personal banking. Always have helped me in the past with issues. A couple tellers are a little moody but will see that anywhere. The mobile app is kind of bad, you have to learn some tricks to get it working to do certain actions. They recently updated the app and user interface (Oct 2024) which I was excited about, but while it does look more modern, it’s generally the same app with the same issues.

2 /5 Faith Morey: I was sick and unable to put deposit into my bank. I knew I had a couple of upcoming auto payments coming up. Was going to do it on Monday morning but was sick in bed. Went on Wednesday even though I was still not feeling well but better than I had been. I called st johnsville bank that told me I had to go to the bank I opened with to have the overdraft fee removed. The lady at the NBT in Johnstown ny said it was up to the manager. I have been with NBT for around 40 years. Anyway, first I was told manager was in the bathroom and would call me back. But when I was called, I was told that the the manager was on the phone and so supposedly had me speak with someone else. Well, why so determined that I HAD to speak with manager and then hand me over to someone else??? Weird. I thought the manager was going to call me after getting out of the bathroom. The lady I spoke with acted like she didnt believe I was sick. She said that in the event you forget again......blah blah blah. Didnt really care about what else after that because she was calling me a liar at that point. Sadly, I was telling the truth. Been sick a lot lately and had told her that prior to her calling me a liar. She did remove the overdraft and is why I gave two stars instead of one (which is mandatory as you cant do zero). If I had messed up because I forgot, I would have said, "I have had an elderly week and totally forgot" and then I would have asked for mercy as my income is...... well, crap right now. But I did sell stuff over the weekend dirt cheap so that on Monday I could get the money in the bank. I had the money to cover the two charges coming up. Wish you wouldnt just ass-u-me because as it goes, you make an ass of u and me. Just realizing that the lady that answered when I first called and I had asked for Tammy Warner who is listed as leader and Manager of NBT Bank in Johnstown, NY online, and the woman on the phone, said no and gave me some guys name as manager, but that it is actually listed under NBT web page as Tammy Warner. Shame on the woman that lied to me.

5 /5 Jo Suss: First bad experience I had. I Had stopped to get cash in two certain amounts. Wanted two separate amounts. Because, 1- I Had to pay a bill in a specific amount . The Teller in Guilderland wasnt very friendly. We had a miscommunication and he did apologize. Then there was a period of silence while I waited for my other withdrawal amount. He then said oh I didnt understand you. I finally completed the transaction. Was going to the back entrance looking for a rest room. He exclaimed you cant go out that way across the whole branch. Said I was looking for the restroom, and said there wasnt one for the public to use. I never have a problem going to other branches. They are especially courteous and very friendly service in Johnstown or Gloversville, NY. Still love this bank!

4 /5 Madison Murray: I love this bank. Been with them for 7 years. My only complaint is they need at least 2-3 days with the closing time being 6pm instead of 5.
