5 /5 Stephen Dillenbeck: I have been with leatherstockings for 10 yrs at least. Recently we experienced a terrible fire that ripped through our home completely destroying it. We lost everything in our house and the complete structure coming out with only the clothing on our backs. Everyone that I dealt with was super professional and kind that goes from Kevin the assessor, Bill the investigator and Matt. They were quick to get us a check cut for contents and hotel / rental accommodations we couldn’t have been more thankful (within a week) then they processed the rest of our claim with speed and fairness. Within 3 weeks they cut us a check for the structure and now we can breath easy knowing we will be ok. I felt the costumer service was incredible (no automated calling you speak to a person). They got us back on our feet and we don’t have to worry about a place to live or rebuilding. I highly recommend this company.

1 /5 Steve Whelley: This company is deserving of a ZERO!...But Google wont let me? As this case develops, I will keep you all informed! But, these folks start with "no.," they hit rock bottom... Then DIG! My first call to them was: "your not covered." Them when pressed... "Oh, yes you are covered." MY impression is: when they brought an engineer in to examine, they sent him to develop a strategy to decline me coverage; not to act on my behalf. 10/23/21 - Interesting meetings this week with attorneys; and structural engineer (which I procured, so do the same!)...Yet VERY encouraging! I remain surprised at the amount of litigation surrounding these folks. Do your research! DO NOT USE THESE FOLKS!!!!

1 /5 Craig Lehman: Attached is a picture of the representative that this company sent to inspect my home unannounced. I’ll let you make the judgment on if this is an acceptable appearance to be showing up unannounced. I was watching this man through the cameras and assumed he was up to no good because he didn’t have a car and obviously does not have anything on him that shows he works for this company. He started taking pictures when I didn’t answer the door and then he started walking around back into my equipment yard, even though there was 2 feet of snow. He was walking through 2 feet of the snow, which is crazy in itself. I swiftly moved out there to inform him that there is to be no trespassing on my property and that he should leave immediately before the police show up. As I said, it turns out this man was an inspector for the home insurance company. After I asked him to leave, my home insurance, which is this company dropped my policy and would not reinstate it. Obviously, if their employees looked halfway respectable before they come unannounced walking around peoples property, this entire situation would never have happened. I’m sad that I have to make this review but it is justified and warranted. Listen to the reviews this is a shady company, it is a bottom of the barrel. Do not let your insurance agent use this company. This is a fly-by-night company just here to collect your money. I repeat do not use them.

1 /5 Garry Ero: I agree they are not good to deal with. I was with one of their smaller agency’s and when I canceled it took 3 months to get my refund. After they said it got lost in the mail and charged me $25 per check to cancel. Funny I got the cancellation letters within a week and the checks in 3 days the second time they supposedly sent it. Go somewhere else people. Zero needs to be an option

1 /5 Marianne Brando: Worse company ever stay away! Bound, signed and fully paid for a homeowners policy a week prior to closing on our new home! Then they cancelled the policy based on …. the address and zip code of the policy they issued, that they took 2 weeks to underwrite. Per FEMA’s zoning maps we are not in a flood zone but they advised that the marina was still close enough (approximately a mile). Not sure what they did or reviewed for two weeks but you would think the location would be on top of the list! Now it’s been about 5 days and they still haven’t processed my refund!! They are supposed be offering their customers comfort and peace of mind and they did the absolute opposite! Stay away pick someone else and if you have them you should really consider other options!!!
