5 /5 Sandip Madan: Ive long known that State Farm is tops in reputation, settling claims fairly and with minimum hassle. My brother has been their loyal customer for over two decades and always been treated well. Till now, I had not used them because there had been cheaper options.
Now Ive been pleasantly surprised by this particular State Farm agency. Despite zero claims and clean record my current insurer (Hartford through AARP) raised rates by over 25%, because of increased cost of repairs in NYC, they explained. So I looked for options and heard from Areej Khan of this Andy Williams office. Their rates were among the best for my bundled home plus auto policy. I mentioned to her that Hartford was lowering its own premium significantly by dropping a coverage I didnt need. She said NY State law requires that coverage, so I should double check with Hartford. Sure enough, she was right. Impressive. She and her colleagues worked with us on discounts so weve essentially ended up with same or better coverage at almost the same premium as we were paying last year at Hartford!
Another good (and rare!) thing: I dont have to go through a maddening automated menu before being able to reach a live agent (that too a different one from a call center each time). Here my call has been answered right away by Andy, Areef, or one of the other two folks (like Will). Theyve addressed my questions/ issues and followed up conscientiously every time.
In sum, (touchwood!) my wife and I are happy about our switch to a premier insurer with a helpful and responsive agent, and his folks like Areej.
