Northwestern Mutual - Grand Rapids (MI)

1 /5 Caleb Raterink: This company has given me nothing except problems. The statements they send me are indecipherable; as far as I can tell, the only increases in my portfolio are from my deposits. They invested my money into the money market instead of what they were instructed to do. And to top it off, they lied to me about a change in the law and made me change the custodian, netting themselves a nice closing fee after it came to light when I talked to a different financial advisor (who they proceeded to insult while Im trying to close my account). Its my mistake for giving them another chance after the money market fiasco I described above. I wouldnt recommend northwestern mutual to anybody after dealing with them.

1 /5 Bruné Garcia: My wife and I pay for disability through north western and we are trying to apply for benefits due to my wife being pregnant and extremely sick. She hasn’t worked in over 6 months due to the pregnancy and not only have we not received a penny of benefits, they claim they will continue to look into my claim but this is a “pre-existing condition” They will do anything to not pay out but when they are asking you to purchase this coverage they say oh we will cut you a check, no problem! The second we find out that they officially deny our claim we will be canceling our insurance through this company. Extremely disappointing to a family in need when you think you have a a back up plan or coverage for times of hardship.

1 /5 Jaren Willis: Awful awful awful. We hadn’t even made it through the screening process and our entire bank account was drained and put well into the negatives. We received an apology 24 hours after and 6 charges later, only after I showed a screen shot of all the charges. Apparently a lunch can fix things bc that’s what they offered for our “heart ache”.
