1 /5 robyn c: I recently had a very troubling experience with Farm Bureau Insurance LaPlace office, and I feel compelled to share my story to warn others about their unethical practices. I cannot, in good conscience, give this company more than one star.
I requested that Farm Bureau Insurance cancel my vehicle insurance because I was switching to State Farm. Jennifer canceled my policy on the wrong date, 2 days earlier than requested, deliberately causing me to have a flag on my license. It is their policy that when a customer cancels their car insurance, the customer must provide proof of the new insurance so that the office knows exactly which date to cancel on. Which I did.The entire situation was riddled with dishonesty and a complete disregard for customer well-being.
Firstly, their customer service was nothing short of appalling after I cancelled my policy. When I discovered the cancellation was done on the wrong date, I immediately contacted Jennifer, expecting a quick resolution to this obvious mistake. She said it would be taken care of. I had been with this company for 15+ years so I trusted her. To my dismay, she did not make the correction. When I contacted them again I was met with indifference and a complete lack of accountability from their office. It became evident that they were fully aware of their error and had no intention of rectifying it promptly. Farm Bureau Corporate said they could not fix it because the branch did not admit it was their mistake.
Furthermore, their handling of the penalties and repercussions resulting from their actions was disgraceful. They did not offer any compensation or assistance in dealing with the financial burden caused by their mistake. Instead, I was left to deal with the consequences due to the lapse in coverage. A 125.00 fine.
This raises serious questions about the integrity and ethics of Farm Bureau Insurance as a company. Cancelling insurance on the wrong date intentionally to exploit their former customers is an egregious violation of trust and a breach of their responsibility.
I strongly advise anyone considering Farm Bureau Insurance Laplace to exercise extreme caution. My experience with them has been a nightmare, characterized by deceitful practices, a complete lack of accountability, and an utter disregard for their customer. It is my hope that this review serves as a warning to others, prompting them to seek insurance providers who prioritize honesty, integrity, and genuine customer care.
