I hired Aaron Buscemi to represent me in a serious criminal case in Ogle County, Illinois. Over the course of nearly a year, he did virtually nothing to defend me, ignored repeated requests, and ultimately withdrew from my case after draining my retainer without filing a single meaningful motion.
He refused to challenge a deeply flawed search warrant, despite knowing that it omitted the fact that I am a registered Illinois medical cannabis patientāsomething that directly undermined the basis for the raid on my home. He also ignored my repeated requests for discovery, which I only obtained later through unrelated channels. He refused to submit seized evidence for independent testing, which could have significantly impacted the charges.
Even worse, he wouldnāt challenge an additional charge based on my wifes legally prescribed medication, which was clearly not mine and should never have been included in the case.
In the end, Mr. Buscemi withdrew from the case without having done any of the work a competent attorney should do, leaving me unrepresented at a critical time.
I would never recommend this attorney to anyone facing criminal charges. His neglect and inaction have had lasting consequences on my case and my life.
