5 /5 K W: I didn’t end up using this attorney, but I had such an important experience that I felt it was important to share with others. Several years ago I called this office for a consultation and once I shared that there was an element of physical violence involved, they made sure to get me in immediately. I felt safe, supported, and heard. I was given an honest and blunt opinion about my circumstance. I listened to it and ran with what I was told. Years later, I have 100% custody of my child and although this firm didn’t represent me in court, I strongly believe the one consultation meeting we had opened my eyes to the reality of my situation and gave me the strength to do what I needed to do. Thank you for being honest with me and supporting me more than you’ll ever know. Thank you for telling me what had happened to me wasn’t okay and making me a priority when other firms made me wait days or weeks to be seen.

1 /5 Perry Klink: Gene represented me when I was going through a divorce and child custody battle for a few months before I requested a letter of relinquishment be written. I echo all the 1 and 2 star reviews. Waste of money and uses outdated practices for the state of IL. Gene wanted me to start paying child support to my ex when we didn’t even know where she was working or how much she was making at the time but advised me to start paying child support as “good faith” to potentially make me look better in court. I’m in a wheelchair and a father of 2 boys going through a custody battle and Gene props his feet on the table leans back in chair and tells me not to take offense to this but it seems like my dad was making all my decisions. He had me fill out a outdated financial affidavit from 2016. The law firm owes me a refund from my retainer and still have not received it. Never received an itemized invoice for the months he represented me. I could go on and on and I’ve been waiting a year and a half to write this review. Take it from me and go elsewhere.

1 /5 Matthew Blecha: Absolute clown show of an attorneys office. If I could give zero stars I would. No one answers the phone, never return emails nor voicemails, extensive periods of time with no communication, etc. But...you can be damn sure they send you an invoice on time. Once you walk inside you know, just poorly run and vastly understaffed. Set my divorce back probably a year. Dont use. -Matt

1 /5 Jason: I would have left a review 12 years ago but dont think he had a Google page then. This guy is garbage and barely works for you. His excuse was he was dealing with some family issues. From some of the recent reviews doesnt look like he has done any better. If you are fighting a divorce or family issue find someone better. This is the worst option you can pick.

5 /5 Athena Manns: Gene is hands down a go getter attorney. He is professional, well educated and knows his stuff. I’ve unfortunately been going through family law issues for longer than I’d like and he’s definitely been top notch and I highly recommend him. He will fight for you and your family.
