1 /5 Jane Doe: I am amazed that they remain in business to be honest, although I suppose they have excellent professional liability and errors & omissions insurance.
During my time in Athens, I had two claims: one on my house and one on my car. Any time I called this office for questions, I was flabbergasted. At best, my questions were answered with, "I dont know" when they should have been answered with "I dont know but let me find out for you." At worst, my questions were answered agreeing with whatever I stated, even when incorrect.
Even if you suggest conflicting questions such as, "If a car side-swiped me out of the parking lot, that car would be liable right?" Them: "Mmmhmm, definitely!" followed by "I was probably parked over the yellow parking lines, making me liable, right?" Them: "That makes sense!"
This State Farm agency is the only one I have experience with from my time living in Georgia. They are not the only insurance agency I have experience with otherwise. My grandparents actually owned an insurance brokerage that had been in the family for over 100 years old when they finally decided to close it. I always witnessed our agents and staff either answering questions (with an understanding of policy terms, liability, etc.) or taking down contact information to return the call once they found out the answer.
Bottom line: dont bother asking questions of this agency. They will either lie or, if youre lucky, state that they dont know the answer (and cant be bothered to do any homework).
