Metter Welcome Center - Metter (GA)

5 /5 Catherine Sliva: We stopped at the Metter Welcome Center in Georgia during a road trip, and it was such a delightful experience! The woman working there was incredibly sweet and welcoming, making us feel right at home. The bathrooms were spotless—probably the cleanest we’ve seen on the road, which was such a relief. To top it off, our greyhound, Wendy, was even allowed to come inside with us as we explored the center. It’s rare to find such pet-friendly places, and it really made our visit extra special. The center itself was well-maintained, and the hospitality was above and beyond. Definitely worth stopping by if you’re traveling through the area!

Visitors center has great rustic exterior with a wonderful view of lake behind the building. A very large selection of local Georgia products for sale. Large number of handouts and other literature for home Georgia and the local area.service

5 /5 Valerie Gibson: Great stop on our way home from Saint Simon’s Island. We’d been searching on Google maps for a good picnic spot off the highway and didn’t see anything. We got off at this exit by chance and scored! Great setting with the lake, ducks, cranes and picnic tables. Also clean bathrooms, friendly staff at visitor center and some nice local products for sale.

5 /5 Unicorn Elfster (PiscoandMartinis): It was closed when we went due to power outages, but we liked hanging out outside, there were picnic tables and lots of ducks and geese. Great stop if traveling with kids. Also a couple of good family friendly restaurants in the vicinity.
