The credit union that I had for many years through my employer is located out of state, making banking difficult at best. However, with thirty-plus years of banking and the perks included in my current credit union, such as free banking with no fees, I did not want to make a change. In speaking with a customer care representative at my credit union, she asked if I was aware of the "shared branching" opportunities offered at participating member credit unions. I was not, but after entering my new address, she told me about Associated Credit Union, which is a 5-mile drive from my house. I can conduct most of my banking locally, and Associated Credit Union has been amazing. They are helpful, friendly, professional, and courteous.
