2 /5 Yess: I needed a new jeweler after my family’s trusted jeweler retired. We went to several different places looking for a very specific ring. They resized it, returned it back to yellow gold from prior rose, and had it back to me same day.
Wonderful service and I love the ability to customize my jewelry, which they do.
EDIT: they actually sold me a rose gold ring that was plated yellow. I did not specifically ask, but they also did not tell me since I did mention I would come back once they ordered a yellow gold ring and when they said they could make it yellow gold same day, my husband mentioned they would remove the rose gold (assuming it was plated). He was not corrected, but again, I also didn’t make sure to ask. So this is also my mistake.
My previous jeweler would never have sold me a plated piece without specifically mentioning it since plating is not permanent.
I would NOT have intentionally bought a plated ring. The rose is already showing through after less than 1 month of wear.
I don’t mind the color, but I am not sure what to make of this situation.
Edit: (IT GETS WORSE)
I believe the owner response was only given to me for readers of the review rather than genuine interest in resolving my concern.
So now, allow me to explain other encounters since the original review. IT GETS WORSE.
I took in a pave diamond wedding band to have a stone replaced. They told me they could not do it same day but would have it by the next day/two days max, and would call me. They did not call. I had to call, and they said it still wasn’t ready. Called two days later. Still wasn’t ready. Eventually I picked it up after a few times of this, and it looked fine in the store (with their bright lights), but I no longer wear it because it doesn’t shine like it once did. I also noticed that some stones look higher and some look lower now (as in, they’re not level on my band).
I don’t have a diamond certification though, so I don’t know what happened, but I will now always opt for paying more for this service at a reputable jeweler. It doesn’t look the same to me.
Now for the owner response:
I did actually go in person to see them and they offered to plate my ring (didn’t mention it being free though). Which I explained that plating was my whole issue to begin with as it was fully rose gold again within 2 months and I never wanted a plated ring. They offered to show me other yellow gold rings to buy and told me to check back for more inventory.
They didn’t actually resolve anything.
Make of it what you will. I will never come here again even if I have to pay more elsewhere. Trust is important when dealing with gold and jewels, and they’ve lost mine.
