The owner of this establishment is the most dishonest man we have ever had the misfortune to meet.
We wanted assistance resizing/adjusting my gold-plated enhancer ring so that it would adequately fit my rose gold diamond engagement ring. We very clearly relayed to the manager Amy that while the engagement ring was all rose gold, the enhancer was only rose gold-plated silver. She took the rings in a back room to the owner and many minutes later came back and told us the ring enhancer could not be adjusted. We thanked her for her time and honesty (how naive), and while she (audaciously) tried to convince us to stick around and purchase a different enhancer directly from them, we politely declined.
Shortly afterwards on our commute home we noticed the gold had been manually SCRATCHED OFF of my enhancer ring and my gold engagement ring was also scratched thoroughly on the same side. We called Amy to question this and she quickly built her defense. She openly admitted that the owner tested the rings to see if they were gold this way! She claims he “wanted to make sure the enhancer wasn’t actually all gold”. Why was this ever necessary? We disclosed the material of each piece before Amy took the rings back to Dwayne (the owner). And even though we NEVER asked for my beautiful brand new rose gold diamond engagement ring to be touched, the owner had the AUDACITY to DAMAGE all of my rings and the AUDACITY to allow us to walk out of his store, while he sat behind a wall like a coward, crossing his fingers, hoping we wouldn’t notice.
Why not come out and admit that you damaged my ring? Offer to re-dip it for free? A “you break it, you buy it” scenario as we tend to do in a civil society?
Would you not demand that I replace something in your store if I PURPOSELY damaged it?
And if you tested my engagement ring, why not bother to buff it back out, for goodness sakes!? I cried at seeing my expensive ring scratched after only a few days of wearing it.
And why did Amy say nothing? She was in the back with Dwayne the entire time? She brought my rings back in her hands in her brightly-lit showroom and turned a blind eye to the damage done.
My husband was upset, but fair and civil on the call. But Amy evaded all responsibility! She promised to speak to the owner and call us back. And, as predictable as crooks without integrity or morals can get— no call back, no apology from Dwayne.
